Binh Duong announces the establishment of Ben Cat Town

Morning March 28, Ben Cat Town solemnly celebrated a ceremony to announce the establishment of town in the spirit of Resolution No. 136/NQ-CP of the Government.

The ceremony was attended by Former President Nguyen Minh Triet; Member of Vietnam Communist Party and Secretary of Provincial Party Committee Mai The Trung; Deputy Permanent Secretary of Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee Pham Van Canh; Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Huu Tu; Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee Le Thanh Cung; former provincial leaders through periods; leaders of departments, branches and Vietnamese heroic mothers and people of Ben Cat.

In the recent years, the Party, authorities and people of Ben Cat have made consistent efforts and reached many achievements in the sectors of economy – culture – security and defense.

Specifically, total value of production gained VND 58,481 billion in 2013, an increase of 17% compared to 2012. In the same year, its esconomic growth rate reached 17.80% (planned increase of 18% to 19%). In terms of economic structure, industry achieved 84.39%, services and agriculture gained 11% and 4.61%, respectively. Estimated income per capital was estimated to reach VND 40,200,000/person/year. Industrial production value achieved VND 49,350 billion, an increase of 14.54% compared to 2012.

So far, the district has 10 industrial parks and complexes with a total area of 4,086 hectares and 18 residential and urban areas with the total area of 4,744 hectares.

Party Executive Committee of Ben Cat Town has 39 members, of which 13 members of Standing Committee. Provincial member, Ms Nguyen Minh Thuy takes over position of Secretary of Party Committee of Ben Cat Town; Mr Bui Hung Dung takes over position of Deputy Permanent Secretary of Party Committee of the town; Mr Nguyen Hong Khanh takes over position of Deputy Secretary of Party Committee and Chairman of People’s Committee of Ben Cat Town.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee Le Thanh Cung stressed: “Ben Cat is a land with rich historic tradition. Becoming a town today is the pride and condition for the development of Ben Cat. Therefore, the Party, authorities and local people of the town should make their consistent efforts to overcome shortcomings and limitations as well as taking advantage to strongly build up and develop Ben Cat Town in all fields in order to become a civilized and modern town and be worthy of the role, position and expectation of the provincial Party and people, especially the Party and people of Ben Cat town”.

Thus, after upgrading to become a town, Ben Cat will consist of five wards including My Phuoc, Chanh Phu Hoa, Tan Dinh, Thoi Hoa and three communes including An Dien, An Tay and Phu An.

In the afternoon of November 21st, in the centre of new Binh Duong city, Viet Nam-German University (VGU) organized the opening ceremony of 2011-2012 school year and awarded graduation diplomas to the first master’s course. Industrial Park Sports Festival

Over the past half month, the sports fields cluster in My Phuoc industrial park (Ben Cat) has become the appealing destination for workers from enterprises which are running business and producing in industrial parks and towns in Ben Cat district. There are more than 2000 young workers and thousands of athletes – their colleagues in production lines and production teams joining together in competition and cheering up sport competitions in the framework of the fourth My Phuoc Industrial Park Games – 2011

Becamex IDC Supports Central Flood Victims

Responding to the call of the Relief Committee of Binh Duong Province’s Fatherland Front Committee, from October 20-26, 2010, representatives of Becamex IDC had joined hands with local Fatherland Front Committee and other enterprises in Binh Duong province to help residents of the central flood-affected provinces. The delegation granted VND1 billion as well as 2,000 gifts and medicines worth over VND1 billion to the flood victims at the districts of Le Thuy, Bo Trach and Quang Trach in Quang Binh Province. At the districts of Dakrong and Huong Hoa in Quang Tri Province, VND300 million with 1,000 gifts and medicines worth VND542,857,000 were donated. On this occasion, Binh Duong Province’s Fatherland Front Committee handled VND400 million to Ha Tinh Province and VND300 million to Nghe An Province.
