My Phuoc Industrial Park Games 2011: The Festival for Young Workers!

Over the past half month, the sports fields cluster in My Phuoc industrial park (Ben Cat) has become the appealing destination for workers from enterprises which are running business and producing in industrial parks and towns in Ben Cat district. There are more than 2000 young workers and thousands of athletes – their colleagues in production lines and production teams joining together in competition and cheering up sport competitions in the framework of the fourth My Phuoc Industrial Park Games – 2011

Compared to the three previous celebrations, the fourth MPIP Games is bigger in scale and in the number of participants. Le Tuan Dung, from Becamex ACC Cement Joint Stock Company competing in athletics and being a caring staff says excitedly that “I have joined all the four MPIP Games, but I still feel very highly enthusiastic and fascinated with the sport festival for us. The fourth MPIP Games is monumental. MPIP Games is the occasion to take exercise, exchange with other units and to show their company’ image”

Addition to traditional games, Steering Committee also takes such popular games into competition as pushing sticks, sack-race, blind man’s small pot, walking on stilt, slow cycling ….attracting hundreds of young workers joining in competition and cheer in each match. Several professional athletes in Binh Duong cycling team as Nguyen Thuy Dung, Cao Thuy Trang also participate in competition in games which are not their strength together with amateur athletes ( according to regulation, athletes who have practiced and reached the national, provincial, district level are not allowed to participate in these games) creating diversity and attraction for the Games. As a national athlete, winning the bronze medal in the Asian Young Cycling Race, a rising star cyclist of Vietnam cycling, when participating in tug of war together with workers in Waste Water Treatment Factory No 4 (belonging to Binh Duong Water and Environment Company, Hanoi girl – Nguyen Thuy Dung still competes enthusiastically in spite of the hot weather. Nguyen Thuy Dung says “Over the past time I only focused on practicing and competing all the year, now I have the chance to meet and exchange with other people in the company, I feel so happy and meaningful. For me, loss and win in this Games is not as important as that I have the opportunity to integrate and exchange …” For Nguyen Thi Hong Nhung (Hung Phuoc company) – competing in three games: tug of war, shot-putting and high jump “it is the occasion to show team spirit and cohesion among members in company, and for young workers living far from hometown working in companies in the industrial park to have chance to meet and exchange with other people. It is so happy to join in the sport festival…” It is also one of the most important goals that Steering Committee wants to achieve!

The fourth MPIP Games 2011 attracts over 2500 athletes from 30 groups in domestic and foreign companies locating in Ben Cat, competing in 17 games, fighting for 55 medals. The total cost of celebration is more than 1.5 million dong, with the participation of 120 volunteers serving the Games. Steering Committee bought insurance for all athletes during the time of competition.

Binh Duong New City in Response to World Environment Day 5-6

Morning of 5-6, the meeting in response to World Environment Day 5-6 was held in Binh Duong new city. We also had the pleasure of meeting with Mr. Le Ba Trinh – Vice President of Viet Nam Fatherland Front’s Central Committee, Mr. Hoang Duong Tung – Deputy Director of General Department of Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Le Duc Hanh – Director, Head of Representative Office of Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment in HCM, Mr. Vu Minh Sang – Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee cum Chairman of Provincial People’s Council, Mr. Pham Van Canh – Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Ms. Tran Thi Kim Van – Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee, and Mr. Tran Van Nam – Vice Chairman of People Assembly. Besides, we also had a warm welcome to leaders of departments, agencies, unions under provincial and district level, leaders of businesses with more than 5,000 delegates that are officials and employees, youth groups and armed forces, students and people in the province.
