On August 10th, 2010, during his working visit in Binh Duong province, Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung visited Binh Duong New City.
On this occasion, PM Nguyen Tan Dung planted memorial trees in Eastern International University. He also expressed his appreciation for the rapid development of Binh Duong province, especially in the construction of Binh Duong New City. He emphasized that when Eastern International University has been officially opened, it will be an important center of training high quality human resources for not only in Binh Duong province but also in the Southeast region.
PM Nguyen Tan Dung suggested that to become one of the provinces and cities with high growth rate, especially in the fields of industry and services, Binh Duong province should promote its advantages such as natural and geographical conditions, favorable climate; hard working, dynamic citizens. Besides, he noted that Binh Duong province must focus on the urban development because its ever-increasing population of migrant workers could cause much pressure on housing, health care, and job training, etc. Therefore, with the plan of being a modern city, Binh Duong should consider thoughtfully from housing to public and welfare works for residents.
